Bring the beat back

5/3 – As creative industries grapple with the impact of the advancements in A.I., Universal Music Group recently drew a line in the sand with TikTok. In January UMG, the largest music company in the world, removed all of its artists songs from the platform citing an inadequate contract renewal agreement from TikTok which, among other things, did not address the issue of unauthorized A.I. content. This week, the companies released a combined press release announcing the return of UMG’s artists after TikTok pledged to tackle their concerns about generative A.I.
