Appellate court affirms dismissal of case against Al Roker, et al.
The First Department affirmed the dismissal of a lawsuit brought by Everette Draughn against Al Roker Entertainment, Viacom, and others represented by the firm, arising from Draughn’s involvement in the series “Big Easy Justice.”
Second Department Affirms Dismissal of Lawsuit Against Daily Mail and the Telegraph.
The Second Department affirmed the dismissal of a lawsuit brought by Marie Napoli alleging that articles published by Cameron’s clients, the Telegraph and Daily Mail, had defamed her when reporting on a dispute. Read the decision here.
Court dismisses case against “Free Meek” producer.
The firm successfully represented the producer of a documentary series about the rapper Meek Mill, which was sued by an attorney for taping disparaging remarks the attorney made about his client, a state court judge who sentenced Meek Mill to jail for violating the terms of his probation. The attorney claimed his remarks were “off the record,” and that the tape recording had been altered. The federal judge hearing the case, however, disagreed, and dismissed the attorney’s claims.
