Sara Tesoriero is Counsel at the firm, specializing in media and entertainment law. Her practice includes counseling and litigation in the areas of copyright, trademark, defamation, privacy, reporter’s privilege, and other First Amendment issues. Sara routinely handles pre-publication review for entertainment clients, including Daily Mail and MailOnline, and is also experienced in drafting and providing guidance on production contracts and related matters. She has been named a “Rising Star” in the New York metropolitan region by SuperLawyers.com for 2021 and 2022.
Sara’s recent experience includes representing Newsweek in a defamation lawsuit filed by The Satanic Temple arising from Newsweek’s reporting on a dispute between the group and its former members, providing litigation support in a case arising from the Amazon series The Last Narc, and advising the producers of Quiet on Set and Secrets of Playboy in responding to a range of legal issues.
Sara received her J.D. from Duke University School of Law, where she served on the Duke Journal of Comparative and International Law and the Moot Court Board. She received her A.B. from Washington University in St. Louis. She is admitted to practice in the courts of New York, Florida, and Texas, as well as the United States District Courts for the Southern District of New York and the Southern District of Florida.
Sara is the co-author, among other publications, of the “Model Brief on Access to the Executive Branch” for the Media Law Research Center, and Explaining International Variance in Foreign Bribery Prosecution: A Comparative Case Study, 26 Duke J. Comp. & Int’l L. 269 (Fall 2015)
